They are essential, perhaps the most essential piece of clothes in a man’s wardrobe. This is the reason I’ve put together this list of the most important shoes for men. Apart from ensuring the style, I’d suggest that the majority of men should start by investing in a couple of high-quality pair of shoes.
Ladies, it’s time for you to evaluate your shoe collection, the items you own and what you may require.
Let’s get right to it. These are the most stylish types of men’s footwear.
1. The Brown Brogue
What’s the first item when you think of the shoes that every man should have? Brown brogues. It’s going to quickly become a staple in every man’s wardrobe. It’s as versatile is fashionable. Are you ready for this? The word “brogue” originates from bro, which is the Gaelic word meaning shoe. Brogues are distinguished by the distinctive perforations or punchings on the uppers of the shoes’ leather.
I suggest a semi or quarter-brogue with a dark brown color for your first pair. If you’re looking for a more sartorially-inspired pair opt for an all-brogue (wingtip) in a tan or cognac shade. Be aware that the fact that a pair of these will surely draw attention If you’re not a fan of the attention, choose darker brown with less broguing. This will help you get comfortable with the fascinating brogues world and offer an endless selection of options to wear with jeans or wool trousers.
2. The Suede Chukka
Are you surprised to see it’s the second most popular at the top of the pile? There’s a valid reason.
Although not as formal as brogues on the formality range however, it is still a step above the sneaker. It’s been claimed that the chukka boot was the first casual shoe that is dressy that offers a wide range of flexibility. Chukkas are great to wear with suits, and they can be casually worn with dark wash jeans and a white t-shirt.
The chukka is an easy shoe that features lacing with an open design and three or more eyelets. The typical ankle-high boot made of leather or suede.
3. The Brown Loafer
Casual, comfortable, cool. Dress them up or wear them casually. Loafers are the summer staple. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t wear them all year long?
Similar to the brogue as well as the chukka, loafers can be worn with casual and formal clothes. This type of versatility makes the loafer slide into my top 3.
While not recommended to wear them with a full-on outfit, loafers can look good when paired in a jacket jeans or chinos. You can choose to go with the leather or suede route here. Tassel or Penny–your choice. Another option that is great can be an elegant horsebit Gucci loafer, which has Italian origin, which is distinct by the metal strap to the side. It’s sure to bring a touch of class to your style.
4. The Minimalist Sneaker
Sometimes, even the most stylish of men are casual. In a time when the casual style is still in fashion it’s a good idea to have a casual shoe. This sneaker made of canvas is perfect for casual outings , from ball games to backyard barbecues.
I would suggest an outfit in a neutral color like beige, white , or gray. So you don’t need to think about what you’ll wear to match them. It’s a given that sneakers with a minimalist design in canvas, suede, or leather are always trendy.
5. It is the Oxford or Derby
The standard Oxford also known as Derby (also known as Blucher) is my top five. The dark black Oxford or Derby is usually the first pair of formal shoes a man has. I’m sure mine was. However, it was one with a square toe, which I don’t recommend. I suggest a more traditional round toe Oxford and Derby.
You might be wondering what’s the difference between these two. In simple terms, Oxfords have closed lacing and Derbys have lacing that is open. In terms of which is more formal, the Oxford.
I would recommend a high-quality pair of Oxfords. The two major factors that define a high-quality shoe include price and design.
6. It’s a Brown Leather Boot
The final of the six essential shoes that men need are brown boots. A pair of brown leather boots can be considered a classic and with good reason.
Based on the style, you could easily add a touch of elegance or a sense of rebellion to your outfit. There are formal boots or casual work boots Chukkas, chelsea boots or even cowboy-style boots.
