Five of my very favorite glittery activities to boost the motivation of children and their learning with autism.
I am a huge fan of everything Fall. I am convinced there are learning experiences all around. You can integrate any and all things in your child’s program with just a touch of imagination and expert guidance!
An educational and fun family event for children and families
Bring your child on an unforgettable walk through the Fall. Find some acorns out in the open. Bring them back home and embellish the acorns with glitter.
Sorting and matching colors
You can work on color with 2 or 3 different colors to do this. Make sure that you have at minimum two Acorns with in the same hue and let your child compare them, sort them according to color, etc.
Encourage your child to participate in pretend games.
Utilize your acorns painted with paint for pretend play with your kid! Feed a squirrel toy and place acorns on the child’s kitchen counter for pretend play.
Build fine motor skills
Encourage your child to collect the acorns by using tweezers with different sizes and shapes that demand various quantities of hand strength as well as preciseness.
You could also use these fun and vibrant homemade glitter acorns for Your Sneaky Snacky Squirrel Game!
Halloween is nearing and we’re all about everything pumpkins at my home at the moment!
Playdough pumpkin pie? YES!
Pumpkin lattes? YES!
Pumpkin carving? YES!
Why not create glitter pumpkins? This is a great and glittery way to mark Halloween, Halloween, and the month of October. I would highly suggest you add this on your to-do list for things to do at home to celebrate this gorgeous month of October.
Encourage your child to adhere to the steps
Make the pumpkin.
Apply glue.
Cover a spoon with glitter.
Build fine motor skills
Holding a spoon, scooping out glitter for crafts, then dropping it on the pumpkin… These actions each require fine motor skill and preciseness. Helping your child perform the steps repeatedly will aid your child in developing these essential abilities. You might require decorating up to 4 or 3 pumpkins which is a great idea since you cannot be too festive for Halloween. Are you sure? !
Learn to teach your child how to enjoy decorating and cherishing an area that is special to them.
Every child deserves an area they can identify as their own, and they must be taught to respect and cherish it. This is true for children with special needs or children who are non-verbal, as well as multiple children who live under the same house. Every person deserves their own special place of worship regardless of whether that spot is just a tiny reading spot in the corner of a room.
If your child is given an area that is special to your home, they must add aesthetics to the space. Perhaps you think that your child doesn’t pay attention to these sorts of touches, but they is. A room that is filled with things that grab your child’s interest and inspire your child to stay in the space is vital to creating an educational environment that is devoted to your child.
My glitter shoes are on my list of my top 10 educational activities with glitter!
Shoes with glitter are in this list because the child’s desire to study is greatest obstacle/possibility in the process of the education of your child.
Why did I choose to write the words barrier or opportunity? I wrote this to highlight the fact that the motivation of your child could very be a great occasion to get your child in thousands of learning opportunities that are enjoyable. The lack of motivation in your child could be the reason you are off from interacting with your child’s full potential.
Shoes with glitter can be the incentive to learn. Listen to me out.
Self-help and autonomy training
If you’re teaching your child more independent, and you plan to teach them how to put on shoes, then glitter shoes can be a great incentive to get them interested in shoes. In my school we’re constantly looking for fun ways to help teach important self-help skills that are not particularly interesting to youngsters (putting the shoes on, using the bathroom, wearing coats and so on.). I’ve found that embellishing the shoes of a child (inside or out) can be useful in encouraging them to get shoes on. The idea of “putting the shoes onto” as a way of getting outside is helpful also.
Family art project
Making glitter shoes could be a great project for the family that offers sensory benefits. It also helps enhance your child’s attention to the task at hand! Enjoy.
Teach your child how to ASK
I would suggest using these adorable little pouches in order to help your child learn to ask. You child is fascinated by playing with miniature cars? Put one in the pouch and show your child the location by opening the pouch and saying that the car is there and then pointing at it. Then , close the pouch and let your child write “car” or”car” or “car” according to the child’s level of communication.
Learn to teach your child how to wash up after themselves
Use these cute, decorated bags of glitter to store small objects like coins or marbles. Your child should put them into the pouch in order one by one.
I am a fan of feathers during my therapeutic sessions!
I have many bags and they come in all sorts of fun shapes and colors! I’m going to provide you with a variety of fun therapeutic games and activities that use feathers, but for today we’re talking about glitter! Sparkling feathers.
Enjoy some sensory play
Create the feathers together with your kid (another amusing, family craft!) and then use them to gently rub your child lightly on their hand, foot, arm or neck. They can also be used to tickle the face and neck.
