In a spectacular celebration of India’s Festival of Lights, Belfast City Hall became a beacon of colour and music for Belfast Diwali 2024.
Organised by ImageNation NI, this year’s Diwali celebration embraced the theme “Folk Dances of India,” immersing guests in India’s rich cultural heritage and uniting communities across Northern Ireland.
The evening was made even more special by the presence of distinguished VIPs, including Stormont’s Junior Minister Pam Cameron; Assistant PSNI Chief Constable Bobby Singleton; Federica Ferrieri, Honorary Consulate of Italy to Northern Ireland; Jonathan Stewart, Director of British Council Northern Ireland; Commissioner Monica Fitzpatrick from the Equality Commission Northern Ireland; Colin Caughey from the Human Rights Commission Northern Ireland; Miss NI 2024 Hannah Johns and Jahswill Emanuel.
Their attendance underscored the event’s importance in promoting diversity and cross-cultural understanding. This successful celebration was made possible through the support of dedicated sponsors, whose contributions brought the vision of Belfast Diwali to life.
Volunteers were also instrumental, offering their time and dedication to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees. The evening’s highlights included vibrant performances by talented members of the Indian diaspora, showcasing folk dances that brought India’s cultural diversity to the stage and provided a memorable experience for the audience.
Founder Sanjay Ghosh expressed heartfelt thanks to all involved, saying: “This Diwali was truly a community achievement.
